What makes a good Argentine tango shoe

Tango shoes are made for pivots, ochos and the close embrace: a secure criss-cross or T-strap, a flexible suede sole and a heel (usually 6–7.5 cm) placed to keep you balanced over the ball of the foot. Open or closed toe is personal preference — both work for tango and milonga.

Getting the fit right
