Our team fits Latin dancers every week — ask away.

Dancing salsa or bachata socially? Our salsa & bachata dance shoes have lower, flared heels built for long social nights.

Heel choice matters more in Latin than anywhere else: a 2″ or 2.5″ heel keeps practice comfortable, while taller 3″-plus competition heels shift your weight forward onto the ball of the foot for sharper hip action. Flared heels add stability for social dancing; slim and stiletto shapes are the competition standard. Alongside AIDA, Candy and BD Dance you'll find International Dance Shoes styles, and many AIDA models can be special-ordered in dozens of colours and materials (allow roughly 6–8 weeks). Classic flesh and tan satin blends with the skin and lengthens your leg line — the competition favourite for a reason.

Choosing women’s Latin dance shoes

Latin dance shoes — for Cha-Cha, Rumba, Samba, Jive and Paso Doble — are built for sharp weight changes and articulation: an open toe, a flexible suede sole and a higher heel (usually 2.5–3.5″) set forward onto the ball of the foot. See how they differ from Standard shoes in ballroom vs Latin shoes.

Heel height, fit and brands

Beginners are more stable in a lower or flare heel — our heel-height guide helps you choose. We carry AIDA, Candy and BD Dance, which each fit a little differently, so check our fit & sizing guide. Need a wider fit? Browse wide-fit dance shoes, or book a fitting in Ottawa or Montréal.
